Snow!

Here are a few pics of the snow "storm" (ha) that came through here a couple weeks ago.

It was a beautiful snow, with big fluffy flakes, but it didn't stick.

Hmm...

Me: "Hey babe...where is the cereal I picked out at the store yesterday?"
Jim: "It's not in there?"
Me: "Nooo..."
Jim: (looks in the pantry) "Which cereal was it?"
Me: "Special K Fruit and Yogurt"
Jim: "Oooooh, I remember what happened. We were waiting for you in an aisle and Eli grabbed it out of the cart and put it on a shelf."
Me: "Why didn't you put it back?"
Jim: "I'm not sure...I think I was distracted."
Me: "Ok, so you saw him take it out of the cart and put it on a shelf, knowing I wanted it, and you just...walked away?"
Jim: "Basically."
Me: "... ...interesting."

My little man(iac)

Eli has officially hit the "terrible twos" phase, and, not coincidentally, I have officially hit the "I want to shoot myself in the head" phase. Everyday is now a battle of the wills, and I'm sad to say I don't always win. I want him to eat, he doesn't want to. I want him to nap, he doesn't want to. I want to sit and relax, he wants me to play. I want to play, he wants to play alone. This morning he refused to eat the breakfast I had for him, but then seemed open to the idea of cereal. So I put some on his table along with the box (he likes to point out and say the letters he's learning), and he proceeded to open it when I wasn't looking and pour the entire (yes, entire) box onto the floor. It is days like today that drive me right to the real soda. Sugar is my nicotine. And I think Chick-fil-a is my booze.

As I write this, my hair is greasy and I need a shower. However, I did brush my teeth and put on deodorant, so I label this day a success :)

OK, I'll stay...

Fresh start, fresh layout. And I've enabled blogger commenting instead of using a separate site for that.

I just have been feeling the need to simplify my life a bit lately. I started by going onto my facebook earlier and deleting a ton of apps, most of which I don't use anymore. Along with a couple I did. Let's just put it this way - the fish are gone and the farm will be soon as well.

I also downgraded from an iPhone to "just a cell phone". I am not anti-technology at all. I love technology (cue the wedding song from Napoleon Dynamite). I just want to slow down a bit and enjoy life more, and being so "wired" was definitely going against that.

I know people who always have to be on the computer or on their phone. Constantly. Like an addiction. And that's fine...for them. Not for me.

Maybe I'm weird, but I love listening to records. Yes, records. As in LPs. And I'm currently fixing up an antique radio. And loving every second of it. I can't wait to be able to listen to it! I also love writing real letters to people. On paper. And sending cards. I think it's really a lost art of keeping in touch with friends. Maybe it's just because I really love putting thought and effort into things. Getting email is commonplace. Getting an actual letter or card is exciting.

Weird, huh?

Last post...maybe

I'm considering deleting my blog. There are a lot of reasons, but the main one is time. I just don't have time to update this blog and Eli's blog and write notes on Facebook for everyone who doesn't visit this page. I would continue with Eli's blog and my Facebook page.

This post will be a bit of a test to see if anyone even checks this anymore...
