Gross.
Ok, so after taking care of a very bloody and drugged up Jim yesterday post-surgery, I am looking slightly less forward to getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow. Although I can still honestly say that I prefer messy and painful oral extractions to this job...sad but true. Yesterday did have some random humorous moments, though. Like when Jim asked me , "Am I married?" followed by, "Is this my chin?" He was totally serious both times. Oh the joy of a drug-induced stupor...

So, anyone have any advice for the days following wisdom-teeth removal?

Mouth stuff
1:30 pm today: Jim gets his wisdom teeth removed. All four.
3:00pm tomorrow: I get 3 cavities filled, which will require at least 4 shots.
10:45am Thursday: I get my wisdom teeth removed. I only have two.

Please pray for Jim if you get a chance. He's never been "put to sleep" and since he's getting all four out and one's impacted, he may swell up a bit. I would really appreciate it :)

You can't handle the truth...
Jim and I went to see the remake of Amityville Horror about a week ago. My review? Very demonic and very Hollywood. It was a little much for me. I actually regret seeing it. I think I'm losing my taste for horror movies. Maybe that's a good thing...

There is a disclaimer at the beginning of the movie (both the remake and the original) that says "based on a true story". Out of curiosity, I decided to google the movie. I found the actual site that George Lutz (the real-life husband of the family that lived in the haunted house for 28 days and then fled) maintains. In this interview you'll find the real story of what happened in those 28 days. It is nothing like the remake or the 1979 original. But it's the actual truth. What a concept. Hollywood sucks.

Caught red-handed
On mornings when I have time, I'll often stop and grab a soda on my way to work. Since I've been off of caffeine now for over three months, my choices are slim. I decided to be creative today and fill up a cup about 4/5 of the way with Sprite and then put some of the frozen cherry slushie into it for flavor. It was fine until I went to mix it, at which point there was some sort of chemical reaction and it grew to about twice it's size and overflowed onto my hand, the counter, the floor-you get the idea. Hmm...so much for subtle.

Seeing red
By 8:27 this morning I was already ready to go home. I was trying to give call to our female tech (imagine that, I'm the service dispatcher and I was trying to dispatch a call), and she refused and then undermined me in front of everyone. I just quietly walked into my office and attempted not to cry. It is a commonly held belief among the techs that she's due for an ass-ripping from the boss, and she'd better get it soon.

There is a theme for today. The theme is "red".

Yesterday I went to the eye doctor for the first time in about 2 years. The contacts I was wearing as of yesterday were two-week disposables that were almost one year old. And yes, that's bad. But now my eyes feel amazing, because as of yesterday, I have both brand-new contacts and an up-to-date prescription.

What I have observed since gaining a renewed sense of vision:
-My car is filthy on the inside.
-There is a slight texture to the walls in my office.
-Jim's carpet really needs vacuumed.
-My face is scary-looking without makeup. Maybe I will get that microderm-abrasion done.
-You're not supposed to feel the contacts.
-I don't have allergies. I had decrepit eyewear.

I have become newly fascinated with looking at stuff. I am a geek. Go me.

I want this shirt!!!!!!

It's from Engrish.com. Love that site.
Wow. People never cease to amaze me. I'm not sure if this guy is courageous or just plain stupid.

So long, RTQ...
New site, new stuff. No more RTQs. But I still want a reason to get feedback from my friends. So every now and then (not necessarily just on Tuesdays) I'm still going to ask for responses. Cool?

*Sigh*
Another slow day at work...I think I'll clean...again...the thought has crossed my mind of getting a part time job (in addition to this full time one). I would just work one or two evenings a week and maybe one or two Saturdays a month. What do you guys think?

Quote of the day: (credit: Aimee)
"I think I just broke my hip. Dang it, this is so going to interfere with yoga class."
My job is getting to me. The assistant manager (ass-man for short) is going to become manager soon-it's pretty much inevitable. He already likes to scare me and make fun of me and throw things at me and speak poorly of our co-workers when they're not around. Let's just put it this way-I don't respect his work ethics.

I wonder what it would be like to work in a professional work environment?

In other news, I'm going to be looking at pianos soon. Hopefully tonight. It would be amazing if I could just teach piano and work on my studies. I really want to work on self-improvement in several areas- sharpening my language skills in German and sign-language, refining my musical abilities on piano, increasing my physical activity, completing my Berean courses to attain my ministry license, not to mention writing and photography. It would be a dream come true if I could get my photography website up by the end of the summer...

To end on an appreciative note, I'm very thankful to God that he's provided me with employment and a way to pay my bills and even get out of debt...

Hmm...the secret's out, Jim.

...wanna make out?

OK, so here's the new site. Officially. And no, it won't be an ongoing conversation between Jim and I. Enjoy.
