My friend and co-worker, Kamie, started her own blog a while back.  I really enjoy it.  She posts interesting news stories and such related to her faith.  And the occasional random funny post.  Like this one.

Another good friend, Tia, whom I've known since 3rd grade, has a site as well.  I's dedicated to the cats that she and her husband, Eric, breed.  Ragamuffins and Bengals, I believe.  They're gorgeous...and expensive.

Me: Morning baby!

Jim: (grunts)

Me: Happy Memorial Day!

Jim: (grunts)

Me: What is Memorial Day all about anyway?

Jim: (nothing)

Me: A memorial is usually built for dead people, right?

Jim: (nods)

Me: Happy dead people day, baby!

So True.

Mystery solved.

That site that you gave us did help, Aaron.  Unfortunately, we know what happened.  Because this is the first year I had my business to account for with taxes, we actually went to H&R Block to get our taxes done.  Silly us...we wanted to be honest and make sure that we wrote in the correct amount of my profit so as not to cheat the government.  And actually, he did correct several of my numbers, so I know it was right.

Here's the catch.  Because H&R Block deducted a preparation fee, we have to wait for a paper check.  They won't directly deposit it. So it might be as late as the end of June before we see our money.

In other words, the government is PUNISHING US for BEING HONEST.

Grrr.

It's May 9th and Jim and I did NOT receive our economic stimulus money in our account today.  We filed our taxes (direct deposit) back in FEBRUARY.  According to the schedule, today's the latest we should have received it.  If they'd gone by my social, it would have been last Friday.  What the HELL, man?  Don't promise me something and then not deliver. 

You know it's time to empty the recycling when...
